On Pins and Needles

I might have been a little too ambitious packing yarn-y related things for our trip to DC.

First, a pair of socks in stripey-yarn.  I’m using String Theory Colorworks in Lacerta.  I’m  improvising a little pattern with a short-row heel and toe.    As soon as I get the second sock done, I hope to share the pattern on Ravelry!

I’m working on another sock pattern too!  I’m using KnitPicks Palette which comes in such a wide variety of colors.  This fingering weight yarn is perfect for colorwork projects!

Next, a little stashbusting has been going on.  Ready for the pins are these shawls.  I brought them with me thinking I would find a way to improvise blocking a shawl.  Ambitious indeed!  I think these will have to wait a few weeks until we get home.  I’ve used Madeline Tosh Sock in Jade and The Sanguine Gryphon in Skinny Bugga (Ruby Tailed Wasp).   I can’t wait to see these shawls once I’ve had a chance to block them!

Lastly, I brought along these pretty yarns to knit the Color Affection Shawl.  Kinda wishing I wound them before we left!  From left to right, The Sanguine Gryphon Little Traveller in Lazy Mountain, GA; Madeline Tosh Sock in Cove and Madeline Tosh Sock in Denim.  A completely stash bust project!

I can’t wait to get started but I should probably finish the socks and my second Holla Back Cardigan first!

What do you have on your pins and needles?
