All Aboard!

It’s really quite hard to resist. You know what I’m referring to, right? Color Affection, the immensely popular, hotter than hot, shawl pattern that you can find on Ravelry. With 5000 plus projects to its credit already (it was only published in December 2011), you know that this is a knitting classic, an easy knit with great results.  Garter stitches makes this soft and squishy and the stripe pattern is fun to knit!  Check out all of the beautiful projects on Ravelry!

Here’s my first, in progress, Color Affection Shawl which I’ve named Seaside.

We were at the beach in North Carolina last week when I started knitting this. It’s quite the blob now especially since I am using 24 inch circular needles. I’m currently on the second to last repeat of the short rows!  So close yet so far!  The final rows seem to be taking forever which may be more indicative of the fact that I’ve been knitting a lot while watching the Olympics in the evening!

I’m getting ready to start a second Color Affection Shawl.  Last night, I joined Twitter friends Susie (@KnittingKnoobie) and Chris (@VTKnitBoy) in a Color AffectionTwitter KnitALong.  I’m trying to stashbust instead of buying more yarn (well, trying anyway).   Here’s my selection.  I’m using  the Wollmeise!  That is how much I like this pattern!  (Even though I’ve been lucky enough to purchase a few skeins of Wollmeise in the past, I have never actually used it!  I am so excited!)

Wanna join our KnitALong?  We’re using the hashtag #ColAfKAL.

  1. I love your Seaside Color Affection.

    But. . .

    THOSE WOLLMEISE COLORS ARE AMAZING!!

Now I want to go stash-diving to see if I have anything that might come slightly close to that beauty!

  2. Love the colors you’ve chosen for both shawls. I can’t wait to see the one we’re working on. It’s going to be so different since it’s so much brighter!
